Mohamed Lamine Benredouane Obituary, Montreal Police Officer Death, MONTREAL, QUEBEC — Montreal police have identified 34-year-old Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane as one of the victims killed during a shooting in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood on Monday.

Authorities said Officer Benredouane was fatally shot while responding to the incident and attempting to protect members of the public. He had served with the SPVM since 2021, and the police department described his death as a significant loss to the organization.

In a statement, the SPVM honored Officer Benredouane’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty. The department said his memory would remain with colleagues and lowered flags at its facilities as a tribute to the fallen officer.

The shooting happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. near a PA supermarket in the Côte-des-Neiges area of Montreal. A second victim, identified as Michael Moshe Mizrahi, was also killed in the incident. A police officer was injured during the exchange of gunfire and received medical treatment.

The SPVM and investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities said the suspected gunman was killed at the scene, and officials are working to determine the full details behind the deadly incident.
