Jamiah Carson Obituary, ANDERSON, S.C. — Authorities have identified 33-year-old Jamiah Sentell Carson as the man who died following a domestic-related shooting Monday afternoon at a residence on Double Oak Court in Anderson, South Carolina.
According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Carson, a resident of Anderson, was fatally wounded after Anderson County 911 dispatchers received a report of a shooting shortly before 3:15 p.m. on June 22.
Law enforcement officers and emergency medical responders arrived at the scene and found Carson suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders provided immediate medical care before transporting him to AnMed Health Medical Center for further treatment.
Despite efforts to save his life, Carson later died from his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed his cause of death was a gunshot wound and classified the manner of death as homicide.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates the shooting followed a domestic altercation inside Carson’s residence. Authorities said the situation escalated and resulted in gunfire, though additional details about the events leading up to the shooting have not been released.
The Anderson Police Department confirmed that one person was taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident. No criminal charges have been announced, and authorities have not publicly identified the individual involved.
