Mason County motocross accident, POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — A young rider has died following a tragic motocross accident at the Mason Motocross track in Mason County, West Virginia. The fatal crash happened Sunday morning while riders were taking part in practice sessions at the facility.
According to local authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. during practice activities. Emergency responders were called to the scene, and a HealthNet helicopter was initially requested to transport the injured rider. However, medical personnel determined the child’s condition was too unstable for air transport, and the victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical facility.
Despite the efforts of emergency crews and medical staff, the minor later died after arriving at the hospital. Officials have not released additional personal details about the child.
The motocross event schedule was canceled following the accident as organizers responded to the tragedy and the motocross community mourned the loss. The incident has drawn condolences from those connected to the sport and the local community.
A fundraiser has reportedly been established to support the child’s family during this difficult time. The family and loved ones are receiving support as they grieve the sudden loss.
