Judith “Judy” Wyler Sheldon And Wylie Sheldon Obituary, REDDING, CALIFORNIA — The daughter of Oscar-winning Hollywood director William Wyler and her husband have been found dead inside a running vehicle along Interstate 5 in Northern California, in a case that has left investigators searching for answers.
Authorities identified the deceased as Judith “Judy” Wyler Sheldon, 84, and her husband Wylie Sheldon, 86. According to the California Highway Patrol, a responding officer discovered the couple unresponsive inside a Jeep Compass parked on the shoulder of the highway near Redding on June 15 at approximately 5:46 p.m.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but both Judy Sheldon and her husband were pronounced dead shortly afterward. Judy was reportedly found in the driver’s seat, while Wylie Sheldon was in the passenger seat.
Officials have not yet released a confirmed cause of death. However, investigators noted that there were no immediate signs of foul play or a crash. Early reports indicate the deaths may be medically related, though an autopsy has been requested to determine the exact circumstances.
